Lehigh Valley United’s Non-Team Programs offer a unique insight into the LVU way. The goal of these programs is to familiarize non LVU players with the traditions and techniques used at LVU and ignite in them a passion for soccer. For some, LVU teams will be the vehicle to experience this passion in the future. LVU Non-Team Programs all have fundamental similarities
Access to the most qualified LVU coaches
Interaction with LVU players of the same age
Introduction to the LVU traditions and methods
Exposing these three ingredients to outside players is key to have them understand the Lehigh Valley United philosophy.
LVU Non-Team Programs: Structure and Calendar
LVU Future Stars (Mom and Me) – ages 3 & 4
Children don’t get as much free play and activity time as they once had. LVU Futures tackles this issue head on. This program is designed around developing the motor skills of children 3-4 years of age. Attention is paid to enhancing the coordination, agility, dexterity, and flexibility of the child. Soccer skills are only introduced in the most minimal of ways with the purpose always centered around fun. LVU Futures programs run throughout the year at LCSF and the Turff Club.
Project 2011 – ages 5-7
The purpose of this program is to connect younger players to Lehigh Valley United. We try to ignite the soccer dreams of the children in this program and steer them on their way to becoming lifelong fans of the game. Additionally the program teaches players how to train through deliberate practice. Focus and concentration exercises are implemented along with motor vehicle skill and soccer exercises. Once again the core purpose being Fun.
LVU Academy – ages 7-14
This program grants access to the most important philosophies and resources of LVU without commitment to a team. In the LVU Academy players are exposed to our professional coaching staff as well as the opportunity to train with and against current LVU players. This is a club neutral program whose intentions are to expose players to the LVU experience without the pressures of competition. Current LVU players are also encouraged to supplement their curriculum with an LVU Academy at certain times during the year.
LVU Select – ages 8-12
A FREE of cost program where only the most dedicated and promising players are selected by a LVU selection committee, at a series of open tryouts. LVU Select exposes like minded players to the staff, traditions, and methods at LVU. A powerful component of this program is its exclusivity. Due to the rigorous tryout process only 15-20 of the best individuals are selected at each age. A fourth component is thus added in this training program, the competitive cauldron. The players in this program play a large part in making each other better. LVU Select is a FREE of cost program, running December-February, that most resembles the requirements of playing for a LVU team.
LVU Camps – ages 6-17
All players, LVU and non LVU, are encouraged to participate in at least one LVU Camp in the summer. Access to LVU coaching staff during intense 5 day periods allows for technical and conceptual concepts to take root in a much more profound way through constant repetition multiple times a day, several days in a row.
