Lehigh Valley United F.C. and the Lower Macungie Youth Association Announce Strategic Soccer Partnership

March 11, 2009: Lehigh Valley United F.C. and the Lower Macungie Youth Association/Lower Macungie Soccer are pleased to announce a pilot program that will lead to a mutually beneficial and strategic soccer partnership. Beginning with the Spring 2009 season, the two organizations will share staff, expertise, fields, and facilities, enabling both organizations to better promote youth soccer, excellence in training, and sportsmanship.

Key goals for Lower Macungie Soccer are to expand the level of fundamental skills training in the micro program (ages 4 to 6), launch a Kinder Soccer Program for children younger than 4, and create a developmental program for U7 and U8 players transitioning from recreational to travel soccer.  Lehigh Valley United will work in conjunction with the Lower Mac Soccer leadership in providing coaching and training support for these programs. In addition, the two organizations will share resources for the Lou Ramos Classic Labor Day Tournament and various summer camps.

"We are very pleased with this partnership," said Chris McGrath, Soccer Director of Lower Macungie Soccer. "Lehigh Valley United represents the highest level of youth soccer here in the Lehigh Valley. This partnership will enable Lower Macungie to provide a complete progression from recreational to travel to premier soccer.  By providing LVU trainers and support to our 1,200 soccer players on more than 100 teams, we are anticipating a strong relationship, at the player level, that will help us promote LVU as the recommended  option for our players and families seeking  premier-level competition."

"We can’t wait to begin working with Lower Macungie Soccer," added Greg Ramos, Executive Director of Soccer Operations of Lehigh Valley United. "Like us, LMYA prides itself on training and development. Together, we will both be better positioned to serve the Lehigh Valley soccer community."
