Juggling for the Cure Initative
Hello, My name is Kamryn McWhinney and I am 11 years old. I have been playing for LVU since I was 4 years old. I currently play on the U-12 girls team for coach Niko. I will be entering the 6th grade this fall at Eyer Middle School. At the end of the school year I was honored to win the Jasper Henderson Award. This award is given to those who participated in the community service club in school and in the community and are helpful and kind. I had to write a letter about if I was given $5 how can I use it in the community to pay if forward on someone who I think deserves it.
The letter that I wrote said how I wanted to use the two things I love best to pay it forward, soccer and my family. You see this past year my Nonna was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She inspired me with her strength and for fighting hard to be able to beat cancer. She is now 6 months cancer free. I want to use my $5 to help others fight like my Nonna beat cancer. I am hoping that LVU players and coaches can help me to pay it forward by donating $5 to enter a juggling contest. We will give away jerseys to the players that juggle the most in different age groups. I plan to donate the money to the Susan G. Komen Fund to help with Cancer Research so no one will ever have to fight again. I have talked to Coach Niko and he is willing to help me. Since the Muhlenberg Camp is coming up and many of the LVU players will be together I was hoping to be able to have the contest then. I hope that you will join the fight with me and pay it forward.
Thank you,
Kamryn McWhinney
